We’d like to give you a taste of the Strategic Coach® Program. Of course, everyone’s experience is unique, but there are certain elements we can describe that are constant. Here, we will briefly cover two aspects of the first year of the Strategic Coach Program: experience and content.
The workshop space.
Each session lasts from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. This might sound like a long day, but we do our best to make the workshop comfortable, varied, and enjoyable. Before the workshop begins, we provide a continental breakfast with a wide variety of light, won’t-put-you-to-sleep foods. There are plenty of refreshments available at all times — water, juices, coffee, tea. We also serve a complete catered lunch. (An enjoyable alternative can be arranged if you have special dietary concerns.)
You will sit in adjustable chairs specially designed for long sitting periods, and every hour the group takes a ten-minute break. Our aim is to take good care of your physical self so you can be mentally present all day.
The chairs are arranged around tables to facilitate sharing and group discussion. At the front of the room is a large screen on which we project graphical representations and practical examples of the concepts being described, to further help you understand, remember, and apply the material. (You will also be assigned a Program Advisor who is well-versed in Strategic Coach® concepts and tools, and can answer any questions or address any issues that come up in the quarter between workshops.)
The participants.
The other participants in each workshop are also successful entrepreneurs — men and women of varying ages and backgrounds who come to the Program from diverse regions and industries. Yet they all share a common experience: the entrepreneurial life and its issues, challenges, and opportunities. Many clients tell us that reconnecting with their group is their favorite part of the quarterly sessions. There are three reasons for this:
- Entrepreneurs have unique challenges, freedoms, and ways of thinking. Many entrepreneurs’ friends and families can’t relate to these. It’s nice to be with people who understand.
- The pooled wisdom of highly successful peers provides high-level discussions and a cross-pollination effect.
- The group is self-selected: Each participant has chosen to be in the Program because of a commitment to a bigger, better future. This makes for an unusually dynamic community of individuals.
The delivery.
The character of each group is as unique as the people in it, yet our workshop format ensures that everyone receives consistent Program content. Our coaches are chosen for their ability to deliver the concepts and tools with confidence, style, and — most important — the wisdom of practical, first-hand experience.
Workshop 1
The Entrepreneurial Time System®.
Many entrepreneurs experience burnout because of all the demands on their time. This workshop will introduce you to a whole new way to approach your activities that lets you focus yourself to create your best results, stay refreshed and prepared, work well with your team, and leave plenty of room for a quality personal life.
Workshop 2
The Unique Ability® Discovery Process.
By the second workshop, you may have had a taste of increased freedom. You may also be experiencing growing pains as you get clearer about what no longer works for you. The secret to your future successes and your happiness at work lies in your Unique Ability®. These talents and skills create the most value for others and give you the most joy. This workshop helps you to identify your Unique Ability and start building your life around it.
Workshop 3
The Unique Ability® Team.
You’re an entrepreneur, so you are central to the success of your business. How do you increase your results without also increasing demands on your presence and involvement? By this point in the Program, you’re clear about the satisfaction you get from working in your Unique Ability. The Unique Ability of each person around you offers the opportunity to go even further, complementing and protecting your talents with theirs, while giving them the opportunity to do something they find personally fulfilling. In this workshop, you will learn how to surround yourself with the best people to create a team that produces great results and supplies you with constant energy.
Workshop 4
The Largest Cheque™.
Some people write you small cheques for the time you invest in them, and some write you big cheques. If you want to experience a bigger future for yourself and your business, you’ll need to focus on the people who write you big cheques — and find more people like them. This workshop will show you how to take care of your present company while expanding your relationships with the big-cheque writers who can fund the “future company” you have in your imagination.
