Bob’s entrepreneurial journey began in 2007 when he launched his first business with his brother in the property management space. What started as a two-man operation scaled to over 25 people in just six months, eventually evolving into multiple companies with more than 175 employees.

By 2019, Bob was running a thriving property management business, overseeing hundreds of rental properties and a maintenance company that serviced them. His teams were solid and his systems worked. 

But Bob found himself trapped by his success: the more capable he became, the more everything depended on him. “I didn't want to continue at that same level for the next several decades of my career,” he says.

The real challenge wasn’t technical—it was his inability to truly delegate. “I think, like many entrepreneurs, you feel like you have to do the work yourself, that nobody’s going to do it as well as you can do it,” he explains. This mindset had become his ceiling.

Bob realized he was missing out on his son’s life. His son was becoming a competitive wakeboarder, traveling to contests, and achieving success on the water. Meanwhile, Bob was trapped behind his desk, managing every detail of businesses that (he now realizes) could have run without him.

“I was working all the time and was surprised to realize we were lonely, distanced from our friends and family,” Bob shares. The very freedom that motivated him to become an entrepreneur was slipping away, replaced by a routine of constant oversight and control.

The breaking point wasn’t dramatic—it was the quiet realization that he could continue building successful businesses while completely missing the life he wanted to live. He was caught in what he calls the “loop of entrepreneurial ambition,” where growth came at the cost of everything else that mattered.

When successful property managers he respected began sharing how Strategic Coach^® was supporting them in growing their companies while reclaiming their lives, Bob saw a lifeline. “Seeing how their businesses grew and speaking to them about Strategic Coach forced me to look into it,” he reflects.

Since joining The Strategic Coach^® Program in late 2019, Bob has experienced exponential growth. “The revenue at the management company has quadrupled, the revenue at the maintenance company has more than quadrupled.” He also got a general contractor license and started a new business.

The real transformation came through Strategic Coach’s tools and community. The Who Not How^™ concept was a game changer, fundamentally shifting his approach to team building and delegation. The quarterly workshops provided something he didn’t know he was missing—a room full of successful entrepreneurs from different industries facing similar challenges.

“There’s a real benefit in meeting with folks that are outside of your industry and hearing about their struggles and realizing they’re the same,” Bob explains. “I'm really inspired by some of the folks that have been in Coach for 20 years or longer, some folks in their seventies, eighties who are there inspiring the rest of us with the success that they’re continuing to have.”

Between quarterly meetings, one-on-one coaching calls with his Program Advisor keep Bob focused and accountable, while the relationships he’s built with fellow members extend far beyond the workshops.

Today, Bob embodies the entrepreneurial dream: owning businesses that grow without requiring his constant presence. He spends entire summers working just four hours a day, dedicating time to his son’s competitive wakeboarding career and teaching others the joy of water sports. The very freedom that motivated him to become an entrepreneur is now his daily reality.
