Life Before Strategic Coach®
Before discovering Strategic Coach, I was undoubtedly a workaholic—every minute I could squeeze in was dedicated to work. I was also operating with the mindset that I could handle everything myself. I’d become totally self-reliant and didn’t want anyone else’s support.
Looking back, I realize how mentally trapped I’d become. I had no time for rejuvenation and, therefore, no energy to be creative or innovative. I was also struggling with how to leverage my business because I didn’t have any time set aside to focus on the things I was most passionate about. I believed that wearing yourself thin came with being successful.
Today, this has all changed. I gave up my role as the president of my company, and I’m now the visionary of our organization. I research new products, innovations, services, and partnerships because this is what I’m most passionate about. I’ve also put the right team in place so it’s easy to delegate the activities that I’m not superior at. These changes have helped me to create a Self-Managing Company and allowed me to focus on the things I love doing every single day.
Growing 10x Is Easier Than Growing 2x
Since joining Strategic Coach, we’ve taken our business to a global level and grown 10x, from $100 million to $1 billion in assets. If you think of reaching your goals with a 2x mindset, it will only incrementally get you one year further. But if you erase that idea and draw on the board what you’re really looking for, you’ll reach the goals you’ve dreamed about. If you set your target for where you really want it, your mind and actions will take you there.
You Can Do Well And Do Good
10x growth, for me, was not only a financial goal; it also had a social and environmental mission that went along with it. I wanted to make a 10x impact on our community. I made it a goal to hold myself to the standards of other banks around the world that are also striving to do the same. I can now say that we’ve achieved this through our contributions, volunteer hours, and loans into the community. Personally, this has been one of my most rewarding achievements.
Confidence And Creativity Are A State Of Mind
One thing I’ve always been sure of is that I think differently from most others in the banking industry. I took the leap to join Strategic Coach because I wanted to interact with people whose mindsets were similar to my own. This experience has been the latch that’s opened me up to immense amounts of growth and improvement.
I no longer look at this as just a yearly investment. It’s about improving my life, not only for myself, but also for my company.
